The Channel Islands offer a beautiful sunny climate, and a relaxed pace of life as well as some fascinating cruising grounds - and we still have tax-free marine diesel! As the BOC’s Channel Islands coordinator I would like to extend an invitation to all ’sea-going’ members (and indeed prospective members) to visit us here in Jersey and if you would like to cruise onward to the nearby Normandy and Brittany ports, or the inland waterways south of St Malo, which lead through to the Bay of Biscay (air-draft permitting) I’ll be happy to offer advice at the planning stage on local Pilotage - yes, we do have big tides and lots of rocks, but its really not as daunting as some of the pilot books would have you believe! And when you get to Jersey, I would be pleased to show you some of the highlights of the island and point you towards the best places to eat, ranging from great bacon sarnies to a Michelin starred restaurant.
