34 club members made it to the CA building at Limehouse on Saturday evening to hear David and Val Evernden's presentation about thier voyage to the Med in 2005 aboard 'Lace' their Broom 10/70.
Not only did they detail the voyage and the preparation of the boat but also highlighted all the other considerations that have to be taken into account when leaving your home in the UK for an extended period, and living on your boat in a foreign country.
Club members had travelled from as far as Sunderland, the Cotswolds and even Holland for this event, many planning to follow David and Val to the Med in their own boats. The presentation was very informative and interesting and was followed by a meal in the CA. The food, the wine and the company was enjoyed by all and soon it was time to either head for home, or for those staying in London to their boats or hotel. Sunday was warm and sunny, 14 club members met at 'The Captain Kidd' pub in Wapping for a roast lunch. The pub is in a stunning location overlooking the Thames - made even better by the sunshine.
My thanks to David and Val for their excellent presentation which was much appreciated. My thanks also to all who attended this event and made it a success. Kelston
