The now annual Boveney BBQ was held on the weekend of June 11th. A staggering seventeen craft and 40 members turned up, and enjoyed the meet which takes place over three days. We also welcomed Mark Garner, managing director of Broom Boats Ltd and also Dominic Smulders, managing director of Bray Marines Sales, who came along with a brand new 395. The Saturday evenining BBQ was blessed with dry weather and some members were still on the bank at 11.54pm.

This poplular event is once again on the calender, and with any luck many of us may be able to attend by boat. Last October's dinner saw the whole moorings at Cookham taken up by Broom's. We have reserved the whole island from Saturday lunchtime until Monday lunchtime and will be providing a BBQ Saturday evening and lunch on Sunday. Boveney Lock island has been booked for the BBQ weekend from Midday Saturday 12th June until Midday Monday 14th June. This event has gone from srength to strength over the years and I hope will continue to do so. Both Fiona and I look forward to meeting you all through the season, providing the season ever does start due to constant poor weather. I am even considering asking Martin Broom if he can build an ice-breaker. Regards Keith

Nineteen members met up at the Kings Arms in Cookham High Street on Saturday March 28th. Once again the event was a great success and all attending had a very enjoyable time. Discussions were ongoing with suggestions on possible future gatherings. We at present have some fourteen boats booked in for the BBQ weekend at Boveney Lock, although it may be possible to squeeze in another two or three craft. There has also been some interest in an up-river cruise to perhaps Days Lock near Dorchester, I shall be looking into this over the next few weeks but again if anyone is intested please contact me. This cruise would probably take place in late August or early September. Keith Robbins
